Monday Whirl........

Wow… it has been really NUTS around here… The kids are back to school, both N and C. You would really think with 2 out of 3 kids back to school for the whole afternoon I would be able to get a ton done. Yep Not So Much! Mondays have to be the worst for sure too. The two boys both have school in the afternoons, N walks just down the street a block to school and C we have to wait for the bus to pick him up. So I have to get all 3 kids ready to walk N to school by 11:50, he starts at 12:05 but it always takes us forever to get out the door cause someone is always forgetting something. C’s bus is scheduled to come at 12:15 which if it came at that time would work out perfect, but it pretty much is early every day… So my mornings start out with a nice walk down to the school with a huge power walk back home to the bus waiting for us. The kids are gone till about 3 so I study during that time and get some of the stuff done that is so much easier to do with out 3 kids in tow. But it never seems like I have enough time to pull out that sewing machine like I would love to. Then we are off to Soccer as soon as C gets home and has a snack. Then form soccer we run and get something for dinner to rush home to have Nana watch the boys while I take a class at the local community college. Its pretty nuts around here… I swore I would have all the time in the world when the 2 older boys went to school, but it looks like its only going to get harder, and more stuffed with sports and everything else the boys happen to come into doing. But you know what its totally worth it all! I just feel bad for the parents that work outside the home; they have got to have it way more stressful than me running back and forth to schools. I know that some day the boys will be very thankful for my running back and forth from one school to another and activity to activity. It has only been 2 weeks of school so far so I am sure once I become a veteran at the school activity run I will once again be able to pull out that sewing machine and get some stuff made again… oh how I miss it all…
Well until then…..

I am a flake....

Well it has been quite crazy around here lately. I haven't had much time to post the kids have been keeping me really busy as usual. Along with not posting I lost the password to even post on here, so I had to reset my password for blogger and then when I tried to get it off my email I again forgot that password... Ugh I hate all these different passwords and stuff...

Along with all the password changes and stuff I have had time to work on some new things around here. Right now I am working on a quilt for Dylan's room, he just made the big move form Crib to BIG BOY BED. I was a bit worried switching him over but you know what he has been doing really good... I am pretty happy with how well he has taken the move. I really worried that it was going to be stressful, well the first night was pretty bad, I think he may have cried for about 20 min straight, but he also didn't have a nap that day and it may have made it worse. Dylan's room is done all in Baseball, I love his room its perfect for a little boy who loves sports. I will take pictures once everything is done in there..... I got the best fabrics for it too, and at Jo Ann's, they are bright red and navy blue fabrics with baseballs tossed all over, and a beige fabric with small American flag shapes they all look so cute together...

I have also been working on Christmas presents for the family. I painted my niece Samantha a doll bed and made a small doll quilt for it also. It is really very sweet and totally makes me want to be kid again. It is so much fun making stuff like that... I really enjoy it.

I also got the cutest pattern ever! from Wee Wonderfuls The Make-a-Long Dolls... The are just the cutest thing ever!! I have become quite addicted to making them for every kid I know, to match them of course...

Well here it is!

Ok I had this totally cool idea in my head, I was going to design my own bag and make it with this new fabric I just fell in love with. Its Denyse Schmidt’s new fabric Katie Jump Rope. Its just way too cute, I love each and every one, so I decided to order some form ebay. I was so excited when it came it was like it was Christmas! LoL. So I found this really awesome blog called Sew Mama Sew, and they have a contest that you can put any of your bags that you make into their contest so when I got the new fabric I totally thought that making a new bag with my new fabric would be the perfect opportunity. I am totally inspired by Lisa’s bags from the Pink Lemonade Boutique they are just so awesome I love all the colors and patterns she uses… awww I just LOVE them! So I decided to make one similar in idea to hers with my new favorite fabrics. So I sketched out something that I thought would be a good shape and started to make a pattern to cut my fabrics out with… I do have some experience in design way long ago I was in interior design school long long before I had kids, but the drafting and design are still in me even if I did switch majors to Nursing. I was pretty happy with the way the pattern turned out. And I then decided to cut my precious fabrics. It took me 2 days to sew this one bag, but I wanted it to be perfect and I ran out of thread and only sewing when the baby naps is kind of hard, but with it all said and done, I am in love with it. My boyfriend did say that its too colorful but what do guys now? I mean really I love all the colors together, they are just way too fun… But lets let every one see the bag already huh? Well Here it is…..

What do you all think? It’s just so cool, I really am impressed with my self I have never made anything without a pattern that I bough so I am just so excited that it came together just the way I saw it in my head…

Well with all that excitement I think I will try to make my self another pretty and I’m off to the design board once again… Until next time….

Oh and totally go and check out the Contest, you have till monday to submit your entry...

Pretties....

Here are some of my pretties...

This is one of my favorite ones so far... I just love the Amy Butler Fabric....

I really have a thing for paisley lately... It has to be one of my favorite types of print. Its pretty odd because I really use to be into flowers but the paisley has awesome movement that I am totally drawn to it. There are some other great new fabrics out there too... that I am dying to get my hands on... I have to go check the fabric store that is a few cities away they usually carry all the new cool fabrics maybe in a few weeks I will get to go and check out them. I totally want to check out the Amy Butler lines, Heather Bailey, Anna Marie's new stuff, and Joel Dewberry just to name a few of my new favorites... I just get so excited about all the new fabrics, so much that I dream about what to make next with them...
Until then...

Not too sure how this whole thing works....

Well I finally decided to make my own blog after being addicted to reading other peoples my self. (I read about 30+ a day) My name is Karie, and I am a single mom to 3 wonderful boys all under the age of 6... I have a pretty exciting and never dull life to say the least. My oldest NP is 5 and a half, the middle CR is 4 and a half and the baby is DT and he is almost 21 months old. I go to school right now to be hopefully a nurse, but with 3 kids and them all being so young it makes it kind of hard to get school done as fast as I would like. But I know that all good things come to those who wait. I am also in the process of starting my own business. Which explains the name of my blog, "Karie's Creations." I love to sew and have probably since I was 4 or 5 years old, thanks to a wonderful grandmother who always taught me as she was sewing and doing many of her wonderful craft projects. She was a great inspiration to me... I will always be thankful to her for all the skills and craftiness she has taught me. I am pretty much always working on something, right now I am really into sewing (quilting, handbags and clothing well just about anything), and I also enjoy decorative painting.scrap booking, and photography.

My new adventure, Karie's Creations, will be more towards the sewing end with diaper bags and children's clothing. I really enjoy sewing it is a great way to get some "Me" time which is kind of hard to do with 3 children, making my sewing way more important to me... Its just a relaxing thing to do.
Well I should be going now... I have to get some pictures shot to post on here so everyone can see all of my favorite things, and creations.
until then....
Karie
